Character Clues

(Prior to the party, print out these clues and separate them into 4 different envelopes marked "Round 1," "Round 2," etc... Each envelope should have one clue for each character. When it is time to read the clues, characters take turn reading the clue to be shared, and then they read the clue not to be shared to themselves. The clues can be read in any order. After the clues are read there is a short question time period.)


Round 1 Nancy Drew

Things you know about others (to be shared with the group)

1) You noticed that you arrived at the island around 4:00pm and the boat was missing at 6:00pm so the boat must have been set free between those times.

1) You’ve missed being with your old friends and are secretly happy that you may get to spend more time with them because of the missing boat.


Round 2 Nancy Drew

2) You remember seeing Ashley leave the beach for awhile at 5:30 because she said she needed more sunscreen.

2) Out of this group your greatest rival is Kenna. She is SO smart. You worry that she may be even smarter than you. Would she make a better detective?


Round 3 Nancy Drew

3) You remember seeing Ginger congratulate Annie on her state championship right before the boat came to pick you up this morning.

2) You saw Annie putting a bandage on her right hand around 5:00. It looks like she cut her thumb pretty badly.

2) You’re secretly jealous of Annie “Speedo” Rodgers. Now that she helped the swim team wins the state championship it is her face on the cover of the local newspaper and not yours.



Round 3 Ginger

3) You saw Nancy Drew right before 6:00 walking on the beach collecting shells in a small wooden box.

3) It’s true, you want all the attention. But you wouldn’t go to the extreme of sabotaging the boat and radio, would you?

4) Mary Ann is really strong from all that hard work she does on the Farm. She is also probably good with working mechanical equipment.

1) You noticed that Nancy Drew packed a few extra bags than everyone else.

1) You’re not really as happy as the others believe. Being rich isn’t all isn’t cracked up to be. Your Mom and Dad are working so hard they don’t have much time for you and you’ve found it hard to make new friends in your high class neighborhood.

2) You remember that Kenna S. Marty went back to the Blue Shell for awhile while everyone was out at the beach because she said she wanted a snack.

2) It’s amazing but you’ve always been jealous of the other girls. They all seem to have such happy families (and yours is so miserable) especially Nancy Drew, who has always had such a great relationship with her dad.

3) You saw Mary Ann with some black stuff on her hands just before dinner.

3) If it weren’t for the radio being smashed you could call for your family’s helicopter to come pick you all up.

4) You saw Annie trying to carry both a beach umbrella and a chair out to the beach by herself when you first got there. At the end of the boardwalk she fell, but Nancy Drew helped her up.

4) You want your old friends to like you so badly, that you would go to extreme measures to have extra time with them, even stranding them on this island for a few extra days. Then you could rescue them with the helicopter – and they would like you even more.

3) You noticed that Ashley came back wearing a new swimsuit at 5:15. Was she so rich that she had to change into a new suit every few hours?

4) You saw Mary Ann and Nancy Drew poking at what looked like a squid on the beach earlier in the evening.

4) You are the one who smashed the radio. It was a total accident. You just went to the kitchen for a glass of water. But then the glasses started to fall out of the cabinet and as you dived to catch them you sent the radio flying. You were too embarrassed to tell anyone.

1) You noticed that it takes someone pretty strong to work that winch and let the boat down by themselves.

1) Really you aren’t sure you even want to go to collage at all. You’re not sure you even like Swimming all that much. Your true love is horses but your parents won’t let you ride because they don’t want to see you get hurt. Getting a swimming scholarship is the only way you can pay for collage.


Round 2 Annie “Speedo” Rodgers

2) You saw Nancy Drew head back to the Blue Shell once during the afternoon and returning with a wooden box.

2) You’ve always been jealous of Mary Ann who gets to live on a farm and gets to ride horses all the time. It’s not fair that she is so lucky and you are stuck swimming laps four hours a day.


Round 3 Annie “Speedo” Rodgers

3) You remember Kenna coming back to the beach around 5:00 with a Lemmon Sorbet. It sure looked good!

3) Yes, you could make the two mile swim back to shore. But you don’t really want to do all that work. And you don’t mind spending extra time with your friends all that much.
